Taller storms = colder tops = stronger updrafts. 🟦🟩 Blue/green colors (–30°C to –60°C) are typically associated with cirrus clouds or weaker, shallower cumulonimbus. But during this ongoing Arctic outbreak, IR imagery isn’t just sampling clouds. It’s also highlighting areas where ground temperatures have fallen below –30°C. That includes most of Central Canada
